Privacy policy

Voice Control for Gemini sends nothing to us or to any server we run. It has no analytics and no tracking, and your settings stay in your browser.

Who we are

Voice Control for Gemini (the "Extension") is a browser extension for Chrome and Edge made by Aidia ApS. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and where it goes.

Data stored on your device

The Extension saves the following in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer:

• Your Dictionary entries (phrases and word corrections you add).
• Your hands-free and layout settings.
• Whether microphone access and speech recognition are available in your browser.

Voice settings (speech recognition language, recent languages, voice, reading speed and read-aloud preferences) are saved in your browser's local storage for gemini.google.com.

This data never leaves your device through the Extension, and it is not synced to your account. Removing the Extension deletes its extension storage. You can export your Dictionary at any time from the Extension's menu.

Speech recognition and voices

The Extension uses the speech recognition built into your browser. When you talk, the browser sends your audio to its speech service to turn it into text: Google in Chrome, Microsoft in Edge. This is covered by Google's Privacy Policy or the Microsoft Privacy Statement, not by us. The browser shows a recording indicator on the tab while the microphone is on.

Replies are read aloud with a voice on your device or with Gemini's own voice. Some voices the browser offers are online voices, and the browser may send the reply text to its provider to speak it.

Your conversations with Gemini

The Extension puts your spoken text into Gemini's prompt box and reads Gemini's replies on the page so it can play them. It does not store, copy or send your conversations anywhere. Messages you send to Gemini are handled by Google, as they would be without the Extension.

Permissions

The Extension runs only on gemini.google.com and uses the storage permission to save the data listed above. Your browser asks you for microphone access the first time you talk.

Sharing and selling data

We do not collect personal data, so we have nothing to share or sell. The Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Extension changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
